Jack Canfield has been press spokesman for governors Hulett C. Smith, Jay Rockefeller and Bob Wise, is a former television news anchor and state legislator, and for 15 years was senior vice president for marketing, public relations, and government affairs at West Virginia's largest medical center. His advertising for Charleston Area Medical Center twice won prestigious national TouchstoneŽ awards of the American Hospital Association. In 2001, he formed his own company - Jack Canfield, LLC - and today specializes in health care marketing, advertising, research, and public relations. During his career, he has served as vice president of both Charles Ryan Associates and RMS Research, was commissioner of the West Virginia Department of Employment Security, and has taught public relations classes at the University of Charleston and at MarshallUniversity. A civic leader in Charleston, West Virginia, he is a member of the board of the WestVirginia Symphony Orchestra www.wvsymphony.org, a founding member of the board of the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia www.theclaycenter.org, and immediate past chairman of Potomac State College of West Virginia University.
